Every two years the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, Ohio hosts an event called "Dawn Patrol Rendezvous", which is a little get-together for all things WWI. And this is one of the years they're having it (September 25-27, 2009 to be exact)!
It's an event that features an airshow, re-enactors, displays, RC aircraft (this year's gathering appears to be shaping up to be one of the biggest for RC modelers), and up until recently a LAN party for Red Baron 3D players. But that may change this year. Its organizer, RAC Murph, has dropped out and has pulled the website used for registrations (http://www.rb3dplayers.org).
It looks like this is due to the the bane of every internet community: forum drama. But he has very valid reasons:
S! All,S! Murph, thanks for your efforts, and we understand. Shame on whoever was involved in the accusations.
My apologies, but I have no real interest in helping to organize and pay for an event for the benefit of or in seeing certain individuals there who refuse to treat others and myself with a little common decency.
I don't post at a certain forum any more because it is not worth the abuse and impossible to have any kind of a discussion without it being interrupted. Besides I've also been told that I have no right to comment there, I'm not wanted there and to get lost.
And since I'm apparently just a liar and thief, I'm not real keen on seeing those either who support or call these individuals their friends either.
