For those of you holding off on purchasing Over Flanders Fields because of the cost, now's probably the best time to buy, with prices being marked down to $29.99.
When Over Flanders Fields was released in January, I don't think I was the only one who thought the price was too high. Originally at $50 plus another $9 for shipping, plus about $10 for Microsoft Combat Flight Sim 3, the total cost of the game came out higher than a brand new commercial game. But I, like many fans, bought the game to play it as soon as possible.
I suppose if I had dedicated several years of my life adding detail to this addon, I certainly would want to get as much money as possible out of it. You would naturally think the best way to do this would be to raise the price. But raising the price too high will actually decrease total sales. It's the basics of supply and demand.
$29.99 is a much more reasonable price in my mind, and hopefully at this level OBD Software is still making a profit, assuming they haven't been completely screwed over by their distributor.
Also, keep on the lookout. It seems that Phase 4 of Over Flanders Fields is in the works, as well as plane packs for Phase 3 (Between Heaven and Hell). So this is still one to keep an eye on!
