Paderborn, Saturday, June 27, 2009
Aerosoft is happy to announce its partnership with the developers of latest Air Combat PC Flight Simulator, neoqb. Aerosoft will be the exclusive European distributor for Rise Of Flight. In addition Aerosoft will also release this product in the Middle Eastern and Central Europe markets.
Rise Of Flight is the latest in a long list of PC Flight Simulators featuring air combat over the Western Front during the First World War. Together with the Battle of Britain this era is known as ‘the pinnacle of aerial combat’. The best pilots from both sides met in the sky, they were matched equally with machines and conditions not favoring either party. Nothing but the pilot’s skill determined the outcome. Flight Simulator fans have always appreciated the simplicity of the aircraft and weapons of this period which allowed the pilots to focus on the dog fight and not on the systems.
The best known aircraft of 1917and 1918 are included (Albatros D.5, Fokker D.VII, DFW C.5, Brequet Bre.14, Nieuport Nie.17, Nieuport Nie.28, Spad S.13, Royal Air Factory SE.5) and each one modeled in great detail and the simulation of the engines and weapons being highly realistic. The world around you is far from being a static backdrop to your flights. Over 100.000 km2 of highly realistic terrain (including Lille, Cambrai, Reims and Verdun) complemented with a sophisticated weather model, which creates a perfect stage from where you will engage the enemy. On the ground you will see the tanks rolling towards the enemy and the trains and trucks that supply to the front line. The front line is marked with trenches, explosions and is a dangerous area because of the anti-aircraft.
After completing the training flights you can also fly a single mission to perfect your skills. The career mode is the next logical step and you will join a squadron and participate in one of several campaigns. Of course an advanced mission builder is included so you can make your own mission and share them with your friends. If you so desire you can fight other pilots on the internet or join one of the many virtual squadrons.
As always, we will support the product with community forums, help documents, game servers and we will also have our very own Aerosoft Squadron that will try to dominate the virtual skies. The release of the English boxed version is expected in July 2009, the download version will follow in early August 2009. German and Spanish/French versions will follow later.
Rise of Flight is created by the well acclaimed Moscow game developer neoqb and is based on the new Digital Nature game engine. The years of development created a true new generation of flight simulation that makes the best use of modern hardware (including TrackIr).

Rise of Flight registration problems due to email providers
Posted by David on June 27, 2009 08:48 PMAha! Neoqb found that rather than their own servers being the cause of the new user registration fiasco, it was actually due to email providers who thought their servers were being flooded with spam. So says Jason of 777 Studios, who relayed this information on behalf of neoqb:
Greetings ROF players,Nice to hear this, and it's nice to hear that it looks like everyone's able to register and play!
The email issue yesterday was not the problem of our servers. All servers worked in a proper way. When it doesn’t work than all users cannot see the main page of our site. All pages worked in a proper way all day long. The customers couldn’t see the registration page after pushing the button «Register» because of the another reason. At night (00:00 by Moscow time) a lot of users try to register at the same time (more than 50 users in 15 minutes). Some of users emails providers thought that it was a spam attack from neoqb email (rof@neoqb.com), wrote to our email provider and our email on smtp-server (it makes possible to send emails to our customers) was darted for 6 hours. Our team began to work in 1:43 pm (by Moscow time) and is working now to help our North American customers to activate Rise of Flight and play it. Our team called our email provider to solve out the problem ASAP. So the registration page started working in a proper way in 5:00 by Moscow time. But we’ve got another problem that some users couldn’t get confirmation emails. It was also connected with the banning of our email address on the smtp-server. So our web team has turned off the requirement of the confirmation email until we will solve the problem with our email provider out. Now the customer should register at https://riseofflight.com/SpecialPages/Logon.aspx?ReturnUrl=http%3a%2f%2friseofflight.com%2fHome.aspx and after filling all fields and pushing the button «Register» you will be transferred to the page «Profile» where you can put the license key of your game and activate it without any confirmation email.
One important notice: check that you put your valid email without any mistakes in spelling
One more time Rise of Flight support team are very sorry for Rise of Flight problems in activation process. If you continue to have any problems with Rise of Flight than please write to rof@neoqb.com and our support team is ready to help you as soon as possible with Rise of Flight!
Neoqb team appreciates your patience!
See you in the skies!

Issues with new registrations for Rise of Flight
Issues with new registrations for Rise of Flight
Posted by David on June 26, 2009 10:00 PM
It seems that many new Rise of Flight pilots are having issues with registering on the website. These server issues were supposedly resolved earlier, but there's many people still having problems.
Here's some things to try:
1. Check your email spam folder.
2. Explicitly allow all emails from rof@neoqb.com
3. Try using another email address.
4. If you're still not able to register, send an email to rof@neoqb.com and tell them your name, email address, and password you created, then ask them to resend. (thanks to Jason at 777 Studios)
Also, it looks like the multiplayer metaserver is down, since no servers are showing up.
Hopefully all of these issues will be resolved soon - we know that neoqb has already stayed up late working on some of these issues. Looks like a pretty rough launch :(

Press Release: Rise of Flight soars into retail
Posted by David on June 25, 2009 06:54 PMLake Forest, CA - Jun 25, 2009
CompuExpert announced today that PC flight- simulation Rise of Flight: The First Great Air War, developed by Russian developer neoqb and published by 777 Studios, is now available throughout North America at traditional retail outlets, as well as via major online game retailers including GoGamer.com and Amazon.
Rise of Flight is the eagerly anticipated World War I PC flight-simulation title from Moscow-based developer neoqb. The flight simulator, set in the Western Front in 1917, was built on the newly developed Digital Nature engine. More than 125,000 square kilometers of the territory have been redrawn from 20th Century maps. Rise of Flight allows virtual pilots to fly the famous Spad XIII and deadly Fokker D.VII biplanes in exciting dogfight battles. Featuring advanced physics, flight and damage models, Rise of Flight promises a realistic, challenging and fun experience for simulation fans of all stripes and skill levels. Rise of Flight also implements full 6 DOF TrackIR support and is compatible with the TripleHead2Go multi-monitor system from Matrox.
Rise of Flight has already drawn praise from critics. IGN.com lauded the game's art and customizability, saying "amazing graphics, with loads of options to customize the experience for the best performance." World War I Air Combat said Rise of Flight, "the most realistic WWI flight sim, in many ways the most realistic flight sim yet released, is soon bound for the hands of eager virtual pilots everywhere."
Rise of Flight includes a Training Campaign and Single Player missions so players can hone their aerial combat skills. Once they are ready, flyers can embark on a Pilot Career that includes six stages from lieutenant to colonel, and begin one of several campaigns with squadrons for the French, British, German or American air forces. Throughout their careers, players can win awards, commendations and promotions for successfully completing their missions.
Mission types in Rise of Flight include fighter sweeps, bomber escort, bomber interception, balloon attack and ground attack. If they wish, players can use the powerful Mission Builder to create custom scenarios of their own and share them with their friends.
Flight-sim enthusiasts can also play with their friends over the Internet and wage their own virtual air wars against rival online squadrons. Even the greatest of Aces in World War I had a wingman, and Rise of Flight multiplayer action focuses on cooperative teamwork and completion of mission goals. Whichever way you choose to play Rise of Flight, it will surely thrill and excite any simulation fan.
Planned additions to the Rise of Flight experience in the coming months include more flyable aircraft, scenery, objects and features. Hurry! Grab your goggles, leather helmet and silk scarf. Enemy planes are approaching!
Consumers can order Rise of Flight via GoGamer.com at http://www.gogamer.com/viewproduct.htm? productId=70882947.

Over Flanders Fields: Between Heaven and Hell now available for $29.99
Posted by David on June 18, 2009 08:31 PM
For those of you holding off on purchasing Over Flanders Fields because of the cost, now's probably the best time to buy, with prices being marked down to $29.99.
When Over Flanders Fields was released in January, I don't think I was the only one who thought the price was too high. Originally at $50 plus another $9 for shipping, plus about $10 for Microsoft Combat Flight Sim 3, the total cost of the game came out higher than a brand new commercial game. But I, like many fans, bought the game to play it as soon as possible.
I suppose if I had dedicated several years of my life adding detail to this addon, I certainly would want to get as much money as possible out of it. You would naturally think the best way to do this would be to raise the price. But raising the price too high will actually decrease total sales. It's the basics of supply and demand.
$29.99 is a much more reasonable price in my mind, and hopefully at this level OBD Software is still making a profit, assuming they haven't been completely screwed over by their distributor.
Also, keep on the lookout. It seems that Phase 4 of Over Flanders Fields is in the works, as well as plane packs for Phase 3 (Between Heaven and Hell). So this is still one to keep an eye on!
